Our chiropractors, Dr Allan Chan and Dr Valerie Wan, have looked after necks and backs in Manning for years. We start by working out what's going on with your body. Then we pick the treatment that fits you.
Some people like the classic hands-on adjustment. Others don't like the cracking sound. That's fine. We have gentle, low-force ways to do the same job with no clicking at all. Just tell us what you prefer.
We ask about your health history before any treatment, and use gentler methods when that suits you better. If we think our physio or massage therapist could help you more, we'll say so.

Back and neck pain
A stiff neck after a bad sleep, or back pain that has been there for years. We look for what's behind it and treat the muscles and joints involved.
Headaches from the neck
Some headaches start in the neck. We check whether yours does and treat the neck and upper back. If it looks like something else, we'll send you to your GP.
Stiff or restricted joints
Shoulders, hips and the spine can get stiff over time. Adjustments and gentle movement work can help them move more easily.
Desk strain
Long hours at a desk are hard on your body. We treat the sore, tight areas and show you simple changes to how you sit and work.

Common questions
›Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?
Most people find adjustments quick and comfortable. Some feel a bit sore afterwards, like after exercise. That settles within a day. If you're nervous, ask for the gentle option, which has no sudden movements at all.
›I don't like the cracking sound. Do I have to have it?
No. We have gentle ways to free up the joint with no click at all. Just tell your chiropractor and they will treat you that way.
›Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No. You can book online or by phone right away. If your GP has given you a care plan and a referral for Medicare, bring the paperwork and we'll bill Medicare.
›How many visits will I need?
It depends on the problem, how long you've had it and what you want to get back to. After your first visit we'll give you an honest guess. We don't lock anyone into prepaid plans.
›Can I claim on my private health insurance?
Yes. If your extras cover includes chiropractic, swipe your card at the front desk and claim on the spot. We take BUPA, Medibank, HBF, HCF and most other funds.
›Is chiropractic safe?
For most people, yes. Serious problems are rare, but like any treatment, chiropractic has some risks. That's why we ask about your health history and check you over first. We use gentler methods for older people or anyone with health worries. If chiropractic isn't right for you, we'll tell you.
›What should I wear?
Loose, comfy clothes. You usually won't need to change, and there's nothing to do before you come.
