Your health information is personal, and we treat it that way. This page explains in plain language what we collect, why, and who can see it. We follow the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you become a patient we collect your name, contact details, date of birth, Medicare or health fund details, and NDIS plan details if you use them. Your practitioner also keeps clinical notes: your health history, what we assess, and the treatment we provide. If you book online or join our newsletter, we collect the details you type into those forms.
Why we collect it
To treat you safely and well. Your clinical history helps us choose the right care and avoid anything that could harm you. We also use your details to process health fund claims through HICAPS, manage Medicare EPC and NDIS billing, send appointment reminders, and (only if you've subscribed) send our quarterly newsletter.
Who can see it
The practitioners and reception staff involved in your care. Beyond that, we only share your information with your health fund or Medicare to process a claim, with your GP or a specialist when you ask us to (for example, under an EPC plan), with the NDIA for NDIS-funded care, or when the law requires it. We never sell your information, and we don't share it for marketing.
How we store it
Patient records are kept in our secure practice management system, with access limited to staff who need it. Paper records are locked at the clinic. We keep health records for at least 7 years after your last visit (longer for children, until they turn 25), as WA health record rules require.
Your rights
You can ask to see your records, ask us to correct anything that's wrong, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link). Just ask at reception or call us.
Our website
Our website uses basic cookies for things like the online booking page. We don't track you around the internet. Online bookings are handled by our booking provider under their own privacy terms.
